Usage counts — We track anonymous rewrite counts to enforce free tier limits (20/day)
No personal data — We don't collect names, emails, or identifiable information
No text storage — The text you rewrite is processed and immediately discarded

2. How the Extension Works

When you use AI Rewrite Paragraph:

Selected text is sent to our secure API server for AI processing
Processing uses Claude AI (Anthropic) to rewrite your text
Results are returned to your browser and displayed
No text is stored — we process and discard immediately
Rewrite history is stored locally on your device only (optional feature)

3. Third-Party Services

This extension uses the Anthropic Claude API via our secure server to process text rewrites:

Text is sent to our server, then forwarded to Anthropic for processing
Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy
We do not store any text that passes through our server

4. Data Storage

The only data stored is on your local device:

Preferences — Your selected settings (stored in Chrome local storage)
Rewrite history — Recent rewrites for your convenience (stored locally, can be cleared)
Anonymous client ID — A random identifier to track your daily usage count

5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

Clear history — Delete your local rewrite history anytime in settings
Uninstall — Removing the extension deletes all local data
No account — We don't require or store any account information

6. Security

We take security seriously:

All communication uses HTTPS encryption
We follow Chrome Manifest V3 security standards
No text is logged or stored on our servers

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
